ToothHugger Guide: Tongue Cleaners

The most common cause of bad breath is not scraping or brushing your tongue. A tongue scraper works best, because you’re scraping off dead cells along with the coating on the tongue to remove bacteria.
Tips
- Scrape every time you brush (at least 2 twice daily), especially after eating fatty foods (fat tends to coat the tongue).
- Use a metal tongue cleaner, because you can clean them in the dishwasher.
- Clean scraper once a week.
- Scrape your tongue 5 times or until a majority of the white coating is removed.
