ToothHugger Guide: Floss & Flossing

Flossing removes bacteria between teeth and is even more important that brushing. Learn to learn the floss.

Tips

  • Floss before brushing and definitely before bed time.
  • Tightly-spaced teeth: Use wax floss or dental tape. Use plant-based derivative wax (not petroleum).
  • Loosely-spaced teeth: Use no-wax floss.
  • For receded gums or low gum lines, a proxy brush is a great adjunct. Removes food particles that flossing cannot reach.
  • Kids: Start them flossing at 8 years old.
